All the holiday cheer and giveaway love going on around has inspired me to host a new giveaway!
The prize pack: hardcover copies of both Incarceron by Catherine Fisher and its highly-anticipated sequel, Sapphique (which will be released on December 28th in the US.) This giveaway is open to US and Canada only-- sorry to everyone else, but in this case I will be ordering from Amazon.
Goodreads Summary: Incarceron is a prison unlike any other: Its inmates live not only in cells, but also in metal forests, dilapidated cities, and unbounded wilderness. The prison has been sealed for centuries, and only one man, legend says, has ever escaped.
Finn, a seventeen-year-old prisoner, can’t remember his childhood and believes he came from outside Incarceron. He’s going to escape, even though most inmates don’t believe that Outside even exists. And then Finn finds a crystal key and through it, a girl named Claudia. Claudia claims to live Outside—her father is the Warden of Incarceron and she’s doomed to an arranged marriage. If she helps Finn escape, she will need his help in return. But they don’t realize that there is more to Incarceron than meets the eye. Escape will take their greatest courage and cost far more than they know.
Because Incarceron is alive.

Goodreads summary: The only one who escaped . . . And the one who could destroy them all.
Incarceron, the living prison, has lost one of its inmates to the outside world: Finn’s escaped, only to find that Outside is not at all what he expected. Used to the technologically advanced, if violently harsh, conditions of the prison, Finn is now forced to obey the rules of Protocol, which require all people to live without technology. To Finn, Outside is just a prison of another kind, especially when Claudia, the daughter of the prison’s warden, declares Finn the lost heir to the throne. When another claimant emerges, both Finn’s and Claudia’s very lives hang on Finn convincing the Court of something that even he doesn’t fully believe.
Meanwhile, Finn’s oathbrother Keiro and his friend Attia are still trapped inside Incarceron. They are searching for a magical glove, which legend says Sapphique used to escape. To find it, they must battle the prison itself, because Incarceron wants the glove, too.

A recent development makes the fantastic YA dualogy of Incarceron and Sapphique even more exciting: Incarceron is currently in production to become a movie. Twilight star Taylor Lautner (aka teen werewolf Jacob Black) is already slated to play Finn, and is rumored to have a part in producing the film as well! Now, I'm not really the biggest Twilight fan, but even I don't have a problem with Taylor Lautner. ;) Get the full scoop here.

Okay, I know the coloring is all wrong-- he is NOT a blonde, but I'd love to see Taylor Lautner as Peeta in The Hunger Games. But I know that's not going to happen, because he's doing Incarceron. I'll just let him be Peeta in my head.

I totally agree with Kristen, Jensen Ackles should play Patch! I love him! I also think that Alex Petyfer, is that how you spell his last name?, should play Jace from The Mortal Instruments. Thanks for the giveaway!

@ Astrid-- Taylor Momsen plays Jenny on Gossip Girl, right? I haven't seen the show for a while, but I agree she has the Felicity look. Felicity is one of my all-time favorite characters, so she has to be *perfect*! Great casting.
ReplyDelete@Khyla-- I haven't seen a lot of Zefron movies (only 17 Again), but he seemed like a good actor in that, so hopefully he'll be cast in a movie adapted from a great book soon. :)
@Aik-- Even more love for Alex Pettyfer, wow! He would make a good Peeta, yes.
I haven't had the opportunity to read these so I can't say for sure who would make great choices as far as actors go, but in reading through the other entries, I have to say you can't go wrong with Jensen Ackles!

Awesome giveaway. Hmm I really love Michael Trevino for anything. Granted he is on the Vampire Diaries at the moment, he could still do a movie. I love Jensen Ackles as well, however I think he might be too old to play any guy in a YA book. But I would definitely love if he did!

The idea of Hugh Laurie as Haymitch sounded really interesting. Other than that, I've been trying to think of someone who could pay Katniss, but no one famous really fits the part, so an unknown makes sense to me.

My son really enjoyed Summer Glau in FireFly and the Terminator so I'm sure he would like to see her in a new sci-fi role, and Johnny Depp is always good in any role he plays. Personally I would like to see Depp as Simon Haynes' character Hal Space Jock.
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Teresa
Ooh I really like Kaya for Katniss. I'm not sure about Pettyfer for Peeta though, if he gains a little weight maybe lol.
ReplyDeleteFor Gale I really like Logan Lerman, plus he's really cute :P He'd prob need contacts and makeup though cuz he's got bright blue eyes and is really pale.
Anyway, Incarceron! Great book. Thanks for the giveaway :]

I have not read either books, and this has been on my to-be-read list for as long as I can remember, so this is a WONDERFUL contest to hold! I don't really have a good feeling when you said that wolf boy was going to produce the movie. You think he'll actually do the book some justice?

I wasn’t sure if you could get points for both a tweet and a Facebook post or not. So my total is either 22 or 19.
I think it would be interesting to see Daniel Radcliffe as another book character, but I’m not sure what and it’s possible people will never be able to see him as anything other than Harry Potter. Tom Felton (who played Draco Malfoy) would be excellent as Casper in Incarceron. In fact when listening to the book on audio I kept picturing him the few times we meet Casper.
