I'll be out of town at the castle in the mountains this week (I know, how many times have I said that before?), but I'll be back on Monday the 4th! Leave me your links when you say hi, and I'll be sure to return any visits and follows. :)
This week's featured blogger over at FF is:
Erika @ Let's Talk About Books.
And the question is:
ACK! Your favorite book/movie character (example Hermione played by that Emma chick ((Emma Watson!))) just walked into the room! Who is it and what would your first initial reaction be? You get extra points if you include visual stimulation.
So I'm going to totally combine all of these movie adaptations and say that I would absolutely die of excitement should I happen to meet Helena Bonham Carter. She's the most brilliant actress! I loved her as Mrs. Lovett, as the mad Red Queen in Alice, as Bellatrix Lestrange, Morgan le Fay in Merlin, even in Planet of the Apes and Corpse Bride, and as whatever-her-character's-name-was in Fight Club. And she's married to Tim Burton, besides... isn't she all together so wonderful? What about you guys? Who would you most love to meet?
I wish you all happy reading and a fantastic weekend!
I like this choice. Loved her as Bellatrix.

Hmmmm. I'm going to take a guess and say you're a big fan of Tim Burton's movies? Helena is one of the most versatile actresses I've ever met and does her role very well! Especially her crazy ones! ;)

Hopping through. I just mentioned Helena in someone else's comment. She's perfect as Bellatrix. Have you seen her in The King's Speech? It's amazing how she epitomizes evil as Bellatrix and then as a sassy heroine as the young Queen Mum.

Hi there Kat. :) Hopping through in this week's FF. Helena Bonham Carter is a great choice! She is brilliantly versatile and eccentric. As far as I know she is actually married to Tim Burton (just a random aside).
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!

@Kristina-- One of the reasons I love her-- she just seems so eccentric. And, of course, extremely talented! Thanks for the follow!
ReplyDelete@Shelagh-- Yep, you're right, I think she is married to Tim Burton. I knew they had lived together for a long time, but wasn't sure about their official status. Thanks for the tip!
@Alison-- I haven't seen the King's Speech... but I really want to! A friend of mine is always recommending it. :)
@Lea-- Ha Ha! Fantastic quote! I loved that, along with, 'I love my fat boys.'
@bookaddict-- Yep. Total Burton fanatic. The combination of Helena and Tim Burton is... I don't think my usual anthem of 'awesome' does the trick here. Let's go with spectacular!
Helena Bonham Carter is amazing- I love how she brings something different to each role she plays. I freely admit I would have been disappointed if anyone else had been picked to play Bellatrix Lestrange too.
ReplyDeleteI also wanted to personally invite you to the 2011 Declare Your Independence Indie Author Giveaway Carnival at my blog, What Book is That?. A different indie author will be featured every day in July and new giveaways are going live almost daily- today's giveaway is for a $25 Amazon gift card!
I only remember her as Bellatrix. I'm really mad that I didn't realize she was The Red Queen in Alice. I feel extra lame now.
ReplyDeleteHappy Follow Friday! I'm a new follower - please check out my blog! Steph @ www.bethebooks.blogspot.com
