Waiting on Wednesday (3): The Dark and Hollow Places

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly book meme hosted at Breaking the Spine http://breakingthespine.blogspot.com/ where bloggers share what yet-to-be-released book they absolutely cannot wait to read.
At the top of my Must-Somehow-Acquire-ARC-of list is...

The Synopsis (from Amazon):  Annah knows she has a twin sister, but she forgot her long ago. Back when they went to play in the Forest of Hands and Teeth, she and Elias lost her, and after that there was no going back to the village.
Life's been hard, but Elias has taken care of her, and living in the Dark City can help one to forget the horror of the Unconsecrated—if you try hard enough.
But when Elias disappears, Annah's world crumbles. To her, life isn't worth much more than the walking dead who roam the wasted world she lives in. It's not until she meets Catcher that she cares to start living again.
Yet Catcher has secrets. Dark, terrifying secrets that link him to a past she's longed to forget and to a future too deadly to consider.
Annah must decide: Can she continue to live a world covered in the blood of the living?
Or is death the answer to all her problems?

The eerie cover and title of Charlotte Carrie Ryan's newest book The Dark and Hollow Places-- sequel to her debut novel The Forest of Hands and Teeth and its sequel The Dead-tossed Waves-- more than lives up those of the other books in her Forest of Hands and Teeth series.  If you haven't read Carrie Ryan's other novels, then I'll give you a very quick synopsis: Post-Apocalyptic. Zombies.  (AKA Mudos or the Unconsecrated)  This series explores uncharted territories in the zombie-verse, and is full of the kind of strong heroines, constant peril, and romance that we all adore... So, if you haven't read the first two books in this series yet, then go buy them immediately!  After reading Carrie Ryan's amazing short story 'Bougainvillea' in the awesome anthology Zombies vs Unicorns, I'm more excited than ever to return to her fascinating world of endless wilderness and relentless zombies.
