+2 favorite...hm, probably the mice in the short story "CATNYP" in the Windling and Datlow anthology "The Fairie Reel" - of course, now I'm forgetting their proper name, but the story takes place in the NYPL and the mice scurry around to collect books and bring them to the librarian/reader/reading room. Actually, I like all the magical beings in the NYPL in that story, but I think the mice are just super cute and clever. :) Otherwise, whether I like the creature or not depends upon the story they're in! Everybody writes them differently, you know :)

I've never actually read a book about fairies but i've heard such good things about this series I really want to give it a shot. Have a feeling I like it. Right now I'd say I prefer werewolves to vampires. Too many vampires about these days. But any shapeshifters are awesome. Maybe a metamorphmagus (Tonks)!
